Dungeons of Persia v3 - The jumper

Dungeons of Persia is a retro speed-puzzle dungeon-crawler, inspired by the original Prince of Persia by Jordan Mechner. Find the door to the next level by jumping over chasms, avoiding traps and defeating guards. I can’t help it, so many people reported they couldn’t get the jump well, that I had to address it.

Cross-genre games are challenging for players to get naturally. With dungeons of Persia, a lot of players just expect long jumps to work by jumping while “running”, but it’s a turn-based grid-based puzzle game, running is a state you get by moving twice in the same direction.

This version makes it so that you can do long jumps by pressing the jump button just as you are close to the gap. PoP players will hopefully be happy.

It also restores the run indicator and improves the sprites for walking and running. Hopefully that will be enough.

Some other fixes were also packed:

• Prevent jumping while engaged in battle
• Reset running when engaging in combat
• Fix issue with Gates opening multiple times in parallel
