In classic slashie style, an update after 2 years!
The biggest change is the addition of COLOR! the game is no longer amber on black, as much as I loved it, I believe it was preventing more people from enjoying it. It may come back later as an option.

Since I’m using background color for the walkable tiles to spice up the visuals a bit, I added a special tiny detail so that the color of the background of the characters for the objects in the world responds to the tile they are standing on.
Some other changes I bundled in:
- Use level 1 music for the training level
- Fixes in music playback
- Scale canvas to fill window [acquired from JSRL]
- Clear textbox one second after last message [acquired from CvRL2]
- Prevent duplicate keypresses by increasing key repeat interval by 50 millis.
- Allow changing audio volume with M

I just did a quick test and it definitely feels much much better to play now with this change. I am looking forward to sinking some time into this.
