Emerald Woods - The Shaft [0.3.9]

A new version of Emerald Woods, the chill no-combat farming, building, and exploration roguelike where you can die, is now available!

It’s been just a week since the last version, but I still felt the urge to release mainly because of the fixes and the UI improvements contained here.

Let’s start with the much improved container/backpack UI; you can now transfer things between containers and your toolbox in a much more comfortable way, for both mobile and desktop versions.

The other big change of this version is the addition of underground locations, starting with “the shaft” that you can find right at the beginning of the game. This is just a sample of what is to come.

It’s going to be cool.

This version includes the first attempt of backward compatibility between savegames, you should be able to load v0.3.8 games into this one.

A barrage of fixes from mostly reports done in the discord were included as well; light sources now clean properly when the item emitting light is removed, you can now transverse bridges through dreadful strong river currents, and fish from them as well. You won’t be able to pull animals into or out of water to prevent unwanted interactions, and the player will no longer attempt to drink paint and crash the game in the process. And more.
